Megan Moroney Is Making a Splash: Country Star Belly Flops Into Rooftop Pool as She Celebrates Career Milestone

Over and over, Megan Moroney has proven that the success of her viral breakout hit “Tennessee Orange” wasn’t just a flash in the pan. The Georgia native has gone from opening for Kenny Chesney to headlining her very own arena tour. Recently, she finally got around to celebrating the continued success of her song, “Am I Okay?”

Megan Moroney Hits No. 1 With ‘Am I Okay?’

Last July, Megan Moroney went full “emo cowgirl” with Am I Okay?, a royal blue-hued ode to heartbreak and what comes after. The album’s jaunty title track showcases her penchant for clever lyricism: He says what he means, and he means what he says / And he’s funny, and he’s smart, and he’s good in – .

In early June 2025, “Am I Okay?” reached new heights. “I CHECKED MY PULSE & AM I OKAY? IS #1 ON COUNTRY RADIO!!!!!” Moroney wrote in a social media post.

This week, the ACM New Female Artist of the Year winner celebrated the achievement at her Emo Cowgirl pop-up bar, located at L27 Rooftop Lounge in downtown Nashville.

“This has been crazy, I mean… This song created a whole era for me. We invented the color blue with this song,” Moroney said in a speech thanking her team. “So to my songwriters, I don’t know, writing with y’all is just so effortless. I love both of y’all so much.”

Making a Splash

Naturally, this milestone required a gesture far grander than the planned celebratory bottle of wine. So Megan Moroney — in full makeup and a custom “Am I Okay?’ #1” jersey — gracefully belly flopped into the rooftop pool.

The “6 Months Later” singer then posted footage of the dive to social media, set to — of all things — George Michael’s 1987 hit “Father Figure.”

“thirst trap,” she captioned her Instagram post.

“very impressive form 10/10,” remarked one TikTok user in the comments.

Others took the opportunity to poke some (good-natured) fun at themselves. “me jumping to conclusions,” one fan wrote.

Another added, “Me when I say I’m done with him but then he texts me.”

“Am I Okay?” marks Moroney’s second chart-topping hit after 2022’s “Tennessee Orange.”
