It’s the end of Summer in Oklahoma with 90s continuing into the weekend and a nice breeze. There won’t be much rain with a cold frontal passage Saturday, and it will remain warm. The drought will get slightly worse as we head into the next couple of days with no widespread rain coming.
Things change drastically on Monday as a storm approaches from the northwest and drops out of the Rockies.
The widespread and significant rain that’s coming on Monday and Tuesday will keep the temps down to 70s for highs. That’s weird by summer standards in Oklahoma.
Temps haven’t been that chilly in the afternoons for Green Country since the 1940s.
In order for the temps to be kept down 20 degrees below typical, you need rain and a lot of it. More than 3 inches or more is coming by the end of next week, with up to 6″+ locally.
The rounds of rainfall will be heavy at times and will cause flooding issues. More updates to come on www.ktul.com into next week.
