Special Victims Unit, the longest-running show in the Law & Order franchise, is returning for season 27 this fall.
The Law & Order franchise has its origin in the flagship show, which was created by Dick Wolf in 1990. But of all the spinoffs the franchise has spawned over the decades, none has proven as long-lasting as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. So when can you expect the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit season 27 release date on NBC to arrive?
The Law & Order: Special Victims Unit season 27 release date is Thursday, September 25 at 9/8c. New episodes of the 21-episode season will subsequently air on a weekly basis in that time slot. If you prefer to stream you SVU, you can watch the new episodes the next day on Peacock. Naturally, this is just one of the TV release dates you’ll want to mark on your calendar this fall. Currently, there is no trailer available for Law & Order: Special Victims Unit season 27.
Season 27 of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit will see the return of Mariska Hargitay as Detective Olivia Benson. Hargitay has been a fixture on the show, having starred in all twenty-six seasons released so far. Also returning will be Ice-T as Sergeant Odafin “Fin” Tutuola, a character who has appeared in every season since the show’s sophomore outing. With David Graziano having departed, Michele Fazekas will take over the role of showrunner. This makes her the first woman to serve as showrunner on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in the show’s nearly three-decade run.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit season 27 will debut on NBC on September 25.
