The last time WWE visited France was for Backlash in May 2024. Over 11,000 rowdy, vocal fans filled the LDLC Arena in Lyon to create an unforgettable environment for audiences watching on TV — and for the WWE superstars themselves. Whether it was the crowd singing along to every last lyric of Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes’ theme songs or the arena rocking like no other during Jey Uso’s entrance, the audience made for an electric event.
WWE returned to France on Aug. 31 for Clash in Paris, an event that saw championship belts defended and scores settled, including a matchup between Logan Paul and John Cena, whose farewell tour continues with limited appearances remaining.
Clash in Paris marked Cena’s first time performing in front of a live audience in France, and he’s very much looking forward to checking that box. “I’ve done so much in my WWE career over 23 years,” Cena said on a recent Good Morning America appearance. “One thing I haven’t done is set foot in front of what’s been called the greatest crowd in WWE history.”
