1. Wyoming to retire Josh Allen’s number before Nevada game
The Wyoming football team will retire Josh Allen’s No. 17 before its final home game this season, that coming against Nevada on Nov. 22. It will be the first retired number in program history. “I’m excited to announce that I’ll be returning to the University of Wyoming Nov. 22 against the University of Nevada,” Allen said in a social-media post. “I’m excited to be back in Laramie. Go Pokes.” Allen played for the Cowboys from 2015-17 and has blossomed into one of the NFL’s most productive quarterbacks ever, winning the NFL MVP award last season. Allen played against Nevada once, a 42-34 victory in Reno in 2016. In that game, he completed 9-of-13 passes for 145 yards and had 14 carries for 52 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught a 4-yard touchdown pass. Allen’s former college teammate, James Price, is Nevada’s wide receivers coach. Price caddied for Allen at this year’s American Century Championship at Lake Tahoe. The Wyoming-Nevada game is set for an 11 a.m. Pacific time kickoff and will air on Nevada Sports Net.

The Wolf Pack was outshot 20-6 with Long Beach State holding a 14-3 edge in shots on goal. It was Nevada’s most lopsided loss since a 6-0 defeat to Idaho on Sept. 17, 2017.
