Panthers Week 2 inactives: Key offensive starter active vs. Cardinals

The Carolina Panthers offense is getting closer to their full form.

As expected, starting left tackle Ikem Ekwonu will be active for this afternoon’s matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. The fourth-year offensive lineman, who underwent an emergency appendectomy three weeks ago, did not play in the team’s Week 1 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Yosh Nijman received the start in place of Ekwonu in the 26-10 defeat. Nijman, per Pro Football Focus, was responsible for six of Carolina’s 11 allowed pressures.

Today’s contest, however, will not see Panthers defensive lineman Tershawn Wharton—who has already been ruled out with a hamstring injury. Wharton recorded four tackles, three of which were stops, before exiting the regular-season opener.
