Methodology
The results data comes from the San Francisco Department of Elections. These results are subject to change: More data will continue to be released in the coming days as more votes are counted.
For the special September election, the Department of Elections collected results in District 4 by “grouped precinct,” rather than individual precincts. That means the data for this election is not as granular as results from previous elections.
In order to accurately compare results with those from previous elections, we grouped old results from individual precincts using a list of consolidations provided by the Department of Elections.
