Fire damages Ice Cube’s tour bus in Portland, spokesperson says

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Ice Cube’s tour bus was damaged by fire in downtown Portland on Tuesday morning, according to a spokesperson. Ice Cube was in Portland for a performance on Monday night at the Portland Moda Center.

According to Portland officials, firefighters responded to a chartered tour bus with a fire in the wheel well near Southwest Oak and Broadway. Firefighters said they extinguished the burning tire and ventilated the smoke from the bus.

Ice Cube returns to Portland with his Truth To Power Tour on Sept. 22. He joins FOX 12 Now to talk about the tour, Portland, and his four decades in music.

The fire is being investigated, and fire officials are working to gather possible evidence or other information from nearby security cameras.

Ice Cube’s spokesperson said the crew was safe, and shared a statement from the performer:

“I’m not taking this incident as a personal attack. A coward like that would burn anybody’s property that was out there at the time.”

No further details are available at this time.
