Guillermo del Toro is creating his own monster.

Coming off his third Oscar win for “Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio,” the writer-director is taking on dangerous territory: adapting Mary Shelley’s classic novel “Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus.”

“Frankenstein” will open in select theaters on Oct. 17 and begin streaming on Netflix starting Nov. 7.
