Actor Jacob Elordi’s Sweet Confession About His Golden Retriever Is Everything

There’s something beyond sweet about hearing people talk about how much their pets mean to them, including our favorite celebrities. And this week, it was Euphoria star Jacob Elordi’s turn to gush about his pup, a Golden Retriever named Layla.

While talking to British Vogue at the London Film Festival premiere of his new movie, Frankenstein, Elordi revealed that who he spends most of his time with is actually his dog, and he had the absolute sweetest things to say about her.

“I spend most of my time with my dog,” he admitted, a shy smile on his face. “She’s a great teacher in so many ways.”

As a fellow dog parent, I know exactly what he means by this. Our dogs tend to be much better people than an actual human could ever be (if that makes sense) when they have all that unconditional, uninhibited love flowing through their bodies.

Elordi continued, “Just in her innocence, how direct she is… I don’t know, my dog is my hero.”

Anyone else feeling emotional about this confession, or is it just me? As if we all needed another reason to consider him our celebrity crush!

Jacob Elordi’s Dog Layla Has Always Been Important to Him

This red carpet interview isn’t the only time that Elordi’s dog Layla has come up in conversation while he has been busy promoting Frankenstein, which begins streaming on Netflix on November 7.

While speaking with press at Netflix HQ earlier this month, Elordi opened up about how Layla helped him prepare for the role of Frankenstein’s monster.

“There was actually this wonderful moment in the hotel in Toronto just before we started, and I was looking at her thinking, ‘What am I going to do?’ I was staring at her; she was staring back at me,” he said, via Forbes. “She walked up to me, and we touched noses, exchanging a little static electricity. I knew then I was okay. It was like she gave me life.”

Even back in 2022, Elordi took the opportunity to gush about Layla in an interview with GQ that the magazine shared on their official TikTok page.

Despite the fact that dogs don’t actually smile, Elordi insisted that Layla does smile, claiming she “literally has dimples.”

“She’s my best friend. She’s my confidant,” he added. “I run lines with her. That dog’s my rock. She’s so special to me.”

Sounds like these two are very lucky to have each other!
