EuroBasket is getting closer, set to begin on August 27, and FIBA has released a new power ranking ahead of the tournament.
At the top remains the undisputed Serbia, considered the absolute favorite for the upcoming EuroBasket. Although the national team led by Svetislav Pesic has not managed to win gold at EuroBasket for 24 years, at this tournament anything short of the title would be a real surprise for Serbia.
Right behind them, as the second favorite, is Germany, the reigning world champion and the fourth-placed team from the previous Olympic Games. In third place is France, which, despite major injury problems, is still considered one of the top three contenders at the tournament.
The biggest change compared to the previous FIBA power ranking comes at fourth place, where Lithuania has now moved up four spots. Latvia remains fifth, while Italy, now in sixth, has also climbed five positions.
Turkey has dropped three places and now sits seventh, followed by Greece, which fell two spots, then Finland, and Slovenia rounding out the top ten.

EuroBasket 2025, starting on August 27, will be the central topic of discussion in the coming period, alongside basketball transfers in Europe and worldwide.
National team gatherings across the Old Continent have already begun, and coaches have announced extended player lists, with only 12 players from each team set to secure their plane tickets for EuroBasket 2025.
EuroBasket 2025 will be hosted by four countries – Cyprus, Poland, Finland, and Latvia.
The final phase of the competition, meaning all national team matches after the group stage, will be played in Latvia, specifically in Riga, with the final scheduled for September 14.
