OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – We’re looking at another warm day today with more cloud cover. Highs will be in the upper 80s with muggy conditions. There’s also a chance of storms after 2pm through the overnight hours.
The severe risk continues to be relatively low, but a strong storm or two is possible especially west of the metro. A Level 1 risk has been issued for western metro and communities west of the metro. The highest chance looks to be late afternoon. Hail and wind gusts are possible along with downpours.

The heat and muggy conditions will continue to start the new week in the lower 90s with heat index up to mid 90s.

More storms are possible late Tuesday night into mainly Wednesday as a strong cold front moves over the Midwest. The Storm Prediction Center did issue a Level 1 risk over a small area just west of the metro for Tuesday night. Hail and damaging winds are the risks again.

Lingering showers may occur on Thursday, but we will see relief from the summer heat. Highs look to drastically cool down to the mid 70s by next weekend. Humidity will gradually decrease after the storms move out.
