Baby Yoda is getting the big-screen treatment.
“The Mandalorian,” the Star Wars series following the galactic adventures of Grogu (aka Baby Yoda) and bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), is being adapted into a film with the upcoming “The Mandalorian and Grogu.” And the new trailer for the space Western flick, released Monday, Sept. 22, shows plenty of action in store.
The minute-and-a-half trailer opens with a panoramic shot of a spacecraft zooming through the sky. Grogu, with a telescope in hand, is then seen standing beside Djarin in an apparent stakeout mission.
Grogu and his armored guardian embark on an action-packed adventure, which sees the pint-sized alien traverse sea, air and snowy terrain, as well as dodge a series of bloodthirsty space monsters.

New cast member and Oscar-nominated actress Sigourney Weaver also appears in the film’s first look, offering a dash of levity in a playful diner scene with Grogu.
While seated across from Weaver’s character Ward, a colonel and leader of the New Republic’s Adelphi Rangers, Grogu attempts to use his telekinesis to bring a bowl of food toward himself. However, Ward swiftly intercepts the food steal, much to Grogu’s disappointment.
In addition to Pascal and Weaver, “The Bear” breakout star Jeremy Allen White and “The Mandalorian” alum Jonny Coyne are also set to appear in the film.
“The Mandalorian” premiered on Disney+ in November 2019 and became the first live-action series in the Star Wars franchise. The show, which spawned spinoffs “The Book of Boba Fett,” “Ahsoka,” and “Skeleton Crew,” has won 15 Primetime Emmy Awards.
